There is no cheap rigging on this boat.
All standard hardware components are either Schaefer, Harken, or Lewmar. Non-standard stuff (chainplates, etc.) were specified as 316 stainless or other highest grade material.
Standing Rigging
- Standing rigging replaced 2007
- Mizzen chainplates replaced 2006 (316 stainless--uppers beefed up to 1/4")
- Main chainplates replaced 2013 (316 stainless--see below)--all new bolts, washers, nuts
- Schaefer jib sheet cars (original equipment)
Running Rigging
- Main sail furling line replaced 2013
- All running rigging replaced 2002
Winches--all serviced with new pawls, springs, etc April 2013
- Primaries - Lewmar 44 self taling
- Main Halyard (spectra)- Harken 40 self tailing in cockpit
- Main Sheet - Harken 16 self tailing right in the way of where you want to sit down
- Mizzen Halyard - Lewmar 40 self tailing on mizzen mast
- Headsail - Lewmar 40 on main mast
Traveler
Schaefer 42-85 (5' x 1.5") replaced 2002 by Hansen Rigging (Alameda CA)--all Schaefer blocks
Headsail Furler
The Schaefer 3100 headsail furler was installed by South Beach Riggers (San Francisco) in 2000.
The drum froze after an ocean crossing and was replaced in August 2014 with a "new design".
MainSail Furler
The Schaefer FURLING BOOM was installed by Hansen Rigging (Alameda CA). All lines are led to the cockpit. Sail and sail cover instructions here
Main Chainplates - January 2013
new 316 stainless chainplates installed with 3M 5200 (Moo's Machine Works: $800)
