  • Oil filter: Perkins 2654403 Sierra 18-7886 Fram PH2821A NAPA 1806 Purolator L30137
  • Oil pressure sending unit: Stewart Warner 279A

  • Ignition
  • The ignition key is wired to the HOUSE BATTERY. It energizes the starter protection solenoid, starter solenoid, engine hour meter, and the INSTRUMENT PANEL lights (instrument panel bulbs are GE 27677).

Both the IGNITION switch and the STARTING BATTERY must be "ON" in order for the engine to start.

  • Air Filtration
  • A WALKER AIR-SEP is fitted to the engine. This makes the engine a closed crankcase system, creating negative pressure in the crankcase and therefore reducing oil leaks. It also quiets the engine.

  • Fuel Filtration:

    Algae-X Filter
    10 micron Racor
    2 micron Racor
SECONDARY NAPA 3361 Fuel Filter (6 micron) mounted to an adapter fitted to the original (CAV) secondary fuel filter head (see notes).

  • Fuel tank access port & gauge wiring

there is a 2" access port for the fuel tank underneath the stainless steel cover plate just forward of the engine access panel. This port also houses the fuel gauge sending unit. Both sending unit and gauge are from Veethree Electronics and Marine LLC, 2420 Trailmate Drive, Sarasota FL 34243 941-538-7775.

The wiring from the sending unit consists of TWO wires: a ground (black) wire attached from the "-" terminal on the sending unit to the ground buss on the port side engine wall and an ORANGE wire from the "S" terminal on the sending unit to the "S" terminal on the fuel gauge. A RED wire from IGNITION is attached to the "I" terminal on the gauge, and a BLACK wire GROUNDS the gauge to the Donatini buss on the side of the electrical panel.

THE GAUGE IS ACTIVE WHENEVER THE IGNITION IS ON. The gauge draws .15ah (15/100ths of an amp).
